Sea Battle

Hide a fleet of 5 ships on your grid, then answer questions to fire on the enemy. Right answers call true shots on Enemy Waters; wrong answers splash harmlessly while the rival captain's counter-volley comes anyway. Sink all 5 enemy ships before your own fleet goes soggy, climb from Captain Pip to Admiral Greybeard, or duel a friend by room code.

Om Sea Battle

Sea Battle brings the classic hide-your-fleet naval strategy game to your study notes. You hide five ships across your own grid of hidden waters, a cartoon rival captain hides theirs, and then the questions start. Every round opens with a question pulled from your own material: answer it right and your three cannonballs fly true, so you get to call three shots on the enemy's grid. Answer wrong and the shots still fire, but they splash harmlessly into open water — you're shown the correct answer, but the round gives away nothing about where the enemy fleet is hiding. The rival fires a counter-volley every round regardless of your answer, so a hot streak of correct answers is the only way to out-race them to the last ship.

Three correct answers in a row trigger a Full Broadside: your next volley jumps from three cannonballs to five, a reward for accuracy with nothing lost for answering slowly, since nothing on screen ever counts down while you're reading a question. Sink one of the enemy's five ships and the game names it, both directions. Beat Captain Pip, an over-eager duckling admiral who cheers for your hits by mistake, and Captain Marlowe unlocks — a theatrical walrus poet who recites dramatic verse whenever you land a hit. Beat Marlowe and Admiral Greybeard, an ancient sea turtle tactician, is the final challenge, hunting in a checkerboard pattern and locking onto your ship's heading once he lands two hits in a line.

Sea Battle also plays as a Friend Duel: create a room, send the code to a friend, and you both place your fleets in private before alternating volleys on the same shared question deck — no AI captain, just each other's accuracy on the line. Fleet placements are never visible to your opponent under any circumstances; only hit, miss, and sunk results ever cross the wire.

A win with at least 80% answer accuracy earns the Gold Anchor medal; any win earns Silver, and even a loss earns Bronze if you sank two or more enemy ships first. Every match ends on a results screen with your answer accuracy, cannonballs on target, and ships sunk, plus a one-click rematch. There is no timer anywhere in Sea Battle — rounds move at your reading pace, and the only clock that matters is how many correct answers it takes to find the enemy's last ship.

Any subject with a broad question bank

A full match runs about 16 to 24 questions, so a deeper deck of material keeps the volleys from repeating too soon.

Exam review and test prep

Rounds are quick and a full match wraps in roughly 12 to 18 minutes, a natural length for a single review session.

Vocabulary, definitions, and fact recall

Multiple-choice rounds with no reading pressure suit quick factual questions better than long derivations.

Friend or classmate study pairs

Friend Duels turn review into a head-to-head match on the same shared question deck, so both players are tested on identical material.

Ofte stilte spørsmål

Is there a timer?

No. Nothing moves, drains, or closes while a question is on screen, so you can read at your own pace. Volley animations only play after you've answered, and the next round starts on a button you click yourself.

What happens if I get a question wrong?

Your cannonballs still fire, but they auto-splash into open water — a wrong answer never reveals anything about where the enemy fleet is hiding. You're shown the correct answer before the next round, and the rival's counter-volley comes in regardless of whether you were right.

How does Full Broadside work?

Three correct answers in a row upgrade your next volley from three cannonballs to five, then the streak resets. It's a bonus for accuracy, not speed — the streak counts correct answers, not time, so there's never a reason to rush.

Can I play against a friend instead of a captain?

Yes, with Friend Duels. Create a room, share the code, and you'll both place your fleets privately before alternating volleys on the same question deck. Fleet placements are never visible to your opponent — only hit, miss, and sunk results are ever shared.

How do I unlock the other captains?

Beating a captain automatically unlocks the next one — beat Captain Pip to face Marlowe, then beat Marlowe to face Admiral Greybeard. Any captain you've unlocked stays available to replay any time.
